BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE

Brian with our nephew Drew.
This is one of my faves! Brian is going to be SUCH a good daddy...seriously, our children will be so blessed. :) He's a wonderful husband and has stood by me through some difficult times. He's nicer than me, more patient than me, more responsible than me...why does he put up with me?!?! :) Oh yeah, it's because he LOVES me. :-D I am so blessed to get to spend my life with this man. He doesn't know I'm writing this...and he'll probably be embarrassed...because he's also more humble than me. But I just had to share. There are not words to describe how much I love my Brian.

Been thinking a lot lately about the kind of momma I want to be. <sigh>

Today, I was reading Ephesians 5:15-21. In verse 18, Paul is "giving a command for believers to live continually under the influence of the Spirit by letting the Word control them, pursuing pure lives, confessing all known sin, dying to self, surrendering to God's will, and depending on His power in all things. Being filled with the Spirit is living in the conscious presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, letting His mind, through the Word, dominate everything that is thought and done. Being filled with the Spirit is the same as walking in the Spirit. Christ exemplified this way of life." (from the notes of my MacArthur Study Bible)

I know I can't be a Godly mother apart from a close walk with Christ, so for now my prayer is to strive to live every day like that...in surrender to and dependence on Him.

And while I'm working on that, we are praying...earnestly praying for God, in His perfect timing and perfect will, to fill our home with the children he has ordained for us...both biologically and through the miracle of adoption.

And while we wait, we are still blessed beyond measure. By the way, have you read Romans 8 lately? You totally should. It will knock your socks off. :) Take a few minutes and listen to this recitation of it. It will bless you...just trust me.

Thanks for joining us in prayer! Have a great weekend!
